The realest food from Philadelphia’s amish donuts, Beiler’s to Detroit-style pizza, Pizza Gutt. Here’s a collection of some of our favorite shots!
My most favorite donuts to date, from Beiler’s in Philadelphia. Beiler’s has 2 locations in Philly, Reading Terminal Market, and a newer shop in University City. They are amish-style, handmade, using lots of butter, fat and sugar, but trust me, these are WORTH IT. Favorites are the salted caramel, fruity pebbles, fritters and triple chocolate!
Eating Beiler's Donuts

Mama's Pizzeria Cheesesteaks
Have you tried the massiveness that are cheesesteaks from Mama’s in Bala Cynwyd? Some say these are the best cheesesteaks ever! We thought they were good, but a little too much. Our tummies were hurting a bit afterwards. Eat with caution. ha!
Highroller Lobster Co.
A quirky spot in Portland, Maine serving up the craziest lobster creations! This wasn’t our favorite lobster roll of the trip, but the atmosphere, and the different menu options are enough to keep you coming back!
National Donut Day Photo Shoot
On our road trip from Philadelphia to Palm Springs, we stopped near Columbus, Ohio for some really killer pizza! This was at the Harvest in Bexley, and we got the Spicy Yuma (up front), and the White Pizza. Really good!

Probably some of the best BBQ we’ve ever experienced. This is the burnt end sandwich, and we highly recommend getting it! along with the “cowboy caviar” side salad. FOREAL!
Crueller from Little Bigs Maine
Seems that this bakery is now closed, but it was some of the best pastries we’ve ever tried!!!
Mini Blueberry Pie Little Bigs Maine
The best blueberry pie we’ve ever had! Looks like Little Bigs Maine is now closed, but it was some of our favorite treats in Portland, Maine!
Beautiful Blue Waters of Curaçao
We went to Curaçao on our honeymoon! The island is small enough to drive around and hit every coast, which is so worth it since each beach is more beautiful than the next!
Woodrow's Sandwich Shop
Woodrow’s is home to some amazing sandwiches, and arguably one of the best cheesesteaks in Philadelphia! But, seriously, you’ll be happy with anything you order on the menu. It’s made with high-quality ingredients and LOVE!
South Philly Barbacoa
You gotta go here. Chef Christina was featured on Chef’s Table, which has definitely increased traffic, but also these are some of the BEST tacos in Philadelphia. Pizza Gutt Philadelphia
The best detroit-style pizza, and it’s out of Philadelphia! Daniel Gutter’s shop used to be a Instagram’s only Pizza Pop-Up and housed inside of W/N W/N Coffee Bar in North Philly. Now, he’s got his own shop called Circles and Squares (inside the former Lil’ Lina’s). It’s foreal, probably some of the best pizza in Philadelphia!
Amazing Gelato on Dizengoff Street in Tel-Aviv. You’ll often see a line through the door, but it is worth the wait, because this is some foreal gelato!
Korean Fried Chicken from Andy’s in Philadelphia. This fried chicken is made daily, so when they run out they run out. You can choose to douse the chicken an array of sauces from spicy, to sweet, plus the sides are delish, and they’ve got Korean classics too like bibimbap and bulgogi rice bowls. It’s Fo’Real, 2 locations in Philly, one on South Street and one in the Kensington Richmond neighborhood
Tuna and Snap Peas
The dishes at Vernick Food & Drink are constantly changing as they are seasonal, so you may not be able to find this dish again. We had it at Vernick in April of 2018. It was so springy, light and fresh.
Vernick Food & Drink
The most amazing steak and veggies from Vernick Food & Drink in Philadelphia. Definitely a spot to go for special occasions, but if you can slip in for some appetizers and a drink, it won’t be super expensive. Recommend going all out, if you can though, it is a foreal favorite!
One of the best burgers we’ve had in Philadelphia! From Nicholas Elmi’s Royal Boucherie in Old City, Philadelphia. Bacon, American cheese, truffle mayo, half-sour pickles, served with pork fat fries. Mmm that’s Fo’Real.
Starbucks Reserve, Downtown Palm Springs
Cheesesteaks, Donkey's Place
Anthony Bourdain dubbed Donkey’s Place the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia, and it’s not even in Philadelphia! It’s in Camden, NJ, right across the river from Philly! These aren’t traditional cheesesteaks, and you probably shouldn’t go at night, but definitely make the trek. These are foreal!

Montreal Style Smoked Short Rib
Abe Fisher Philly, you will forever have our hearts! One of the many Cook N Solo restaurants, this one may be the foreal favorite. Chef Yehuda Sichel’s take on traditional Jewish food makes this kind of cooking hip. I don’t know how he does it, but everything works really well, and also kind of reminds you of home!
With many locations in Chicago, I think this donut and fried chicken spot serves up some of the realest of both of those things in Chicago. The fried chicken sandwich makes for a great breakfast too.
Apple Fritter Bigger Than Your Head!
Pool Lobster at Goldwaithe's
Seasonal, casual, order-up restaurant out of Goldwaithe’s Grocery store in Biddeford, Maine. I believe they’re open from Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day Weekend. You can order some fresh seafood, then take it outside and eat with a view of Saco Bay. It’s a Maine must-do!

This was a foreal dish from From the Boot in Lafayette Hill, PA! Huge portions, and BYOB! We split this plus a salad, and were so full. Love a good value!
A Feast from L-Woods
I grew up eating here, when it was called Bones. This is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant in Lincolnwood, IL, a suburb just northwest of Chicago. When you step in, it’s like you’re transported to a dining club in the far woods of Wisconsin or Michigan. The food is comforting too, for those cold Chicago winters. Burgers are top-notch, along with their beef ribs, and I hear they make some pretty good fried chicken too, but that’s only on Sundays!
Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake
Member those Good Humor Bars? Well this is that, in a cupcake form, and was it delicious! We found this at a little cupcake shop outside of Philadelphia.. Sweet Escape Cupcakery in Jenkintown, Pa!

Hummus from Saba
This was smooth, creamy hummus from Alon Shaya’s restaurant, Shaya, back when it was his restaurant. Now, he owns Saba in NOLA and Safta in Denver!
Some of the best pita we’ve ever tasted, although, because we grew up visiting the Middle East, this was a bit overpriced for our liking. Still super, super tasty!

Flying Monkey Bakery
This bakery has some of the craziest, tastiest creations. Located inside the Reading Terminal Market, their items change daily/weekly/seasonally, but it is worth checking out! This was their cookies and cream brownie, just check out those layers of chocolate-y goodness. And, during Thanksgiving time, you can try a slice of their infamous Pumpple Cake…
Chocolate cake with pumpkin pie baked inside and vanilla cake with apple pie baked inside filled with vanilla buttercream. Wow!
Or you can order year-round, but it requires 72 hours notice. This place is FO REAL!

Monkey Island also know as Cát Bà in Vietnam. This was from our hike.

Colette Miller Wings, Downtown Palm Springs
The Surfer, Middle Child Philadelphia
The coolest, retro-style “kitchenette,” diner, serving up the highest quality, most inventive sandwiches. They’re not crazy, but have such nice touches, like this Surfer: turkey, swiss, blueberry-masala jam, arugula, duke’s mayo, on a Philly Bread ciabatta roll. That jam really turns this sandwich from normal to FOREAL!
HiFi Donuts Portland, Maine
Pretty donuts, and pretty tasty, but not our favorite!
The Turf Club
Infamous burger bar in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Turf Club. They serve up giant burgers and chicken, fries, delicious beers, with unlimited peanuts to snack on while you wait for your food. A foreal spot!
Square Pie Philadelphia
Half mushroom, peppers and half pepperoni from a Philly staple, Square Pie!

Cafe Xoho, Tel-Aviv

Banana Party Muffin
Cafe Xoho in Tel-Aviv also serves up some delicious baked goodies! Again, more American-style, but you can’t deny, this looks like a party for your mouth, foreal!
Shawarma from Hakosem
Hakosem in Tel-Aviv always has a line wrapped through it and out the door, but it moves fast. There are two lines too, one for if you are justt ordering sandwiches, and one if you are ordering plates, plus other things. So, be on the lookout for a quick hop into the shorter line if you are ordering sandwiches. Anyways, they serve up some of the best shawarma, falafel, and classic Israeli-street food in all of Tel-Aviv.
Starbucks Strawberry Refresher
Some of the bluest waters I’ve ever witnessed, off of the West Coast of Crete, you will find Gramvousa Beach. Crete is a great destination, it’s beautiful, there’s a lot of “main street” areas where you can walk from restaurant to bar to hotel, and it’s BEAUTIFUL, foreal.
This was a delicious prosciutto, asparagus, pasta dish from Vernick’s spring menu. Their dishes change seasonally, so you probably can’t find it again, but that’s what makes this restaurant so good and so foreal!
